We bring together high achieving, promising young leaders driven to learn and make an impact in their community. We run an intensive series of bootcamps for our scholars throughout the year. Our activities include lectures, seminars, standardized test preparation, workshops, admission sessions, field trips, and sports. At the end of their first boot camp, scholars are matched with mentors and placed with local companies and community-based organizations for internships and volunteering opportunities.

Misongi's priority

We prioritize not just getting our scholars admitted into top universities but making sure that we prepare them adequately for an undergraduate life that would ensure success.

Misongi was founded in 2018 by Veronique Hob-Hob. Misongi is a word in the Bassa language that means "Mathematics."

Misongi connects Cameroon’s most exceptional, motivated youth with leading institutions of higher education and further opportunities. By working with these students — beginning in junior high, Misongi aims to increase the percentage of talented Cameroonian students attending the world’s best universities and to support them to achieve success in their careers and communities.

Program Features

Intensive Training

Our students undergo a rigorous academic, social and cultural training throughout the year.

Network Benefits

We have a rich network of admissions representatives from different schools that avail themselves to speak to our scholars and help them get their admissions chances to a maximum.

College Access Program

We bring together high achieving, promising young leaders driven to learn and make an impact in their community. We run intensive two weeks boot-camp throughout the year which includes lectures, seminars, standardized test preparation, workshops, admissions sessions, field trips, and sports. At the end of their first boot camp, scholars are matched with mentors and placed with local companies and community-based organizations for internships and volunteering opportunities.

We developed our rigorous curriculum and programming around key issues such as 21st-century curricula, education innovation, digital fluency, and STEAM skills and lifelong learning pathways. Technological innovation is fundamentally transforming education. Our program is reflective of those changes. We help our scholars develop digital fluency, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Entrepreneurship (STEAM) skills if they are to be equipped to navigate and thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

However, our curriculum places a special emphasis on cultural identity and is grounded on the ethos of giving back. Through interactive workshops, we help our scholars build local and global citizenship values, and nourish core non-cognitive skills. We believe nurturing a new generation of responsible and responsive leaders involves building a solid foundation for a lifetime of adapting and developing new abilities. This is our mission, and we are committed to assisting our scholars to fulfill their potential.

Scholars Application - Where preparation meets opportunity

There are many determined and talented students in Cameroon who lack maximum financial resources and access to information to better their educational future. For this reason, Misongi seeks to identify highly academically qualified and motivated Senior Secondary students in Cameroon to join the 2020-2021 Cohort of the Misongi College Access Program.

Misongi’s mission is to assist highly-talented and motivated students to negotiate and finance the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. The aim is to produce highly-skilled and widely-educated leaders to build tomorrow’s Cameroon.

During this one year program, Misongi works closely with students through regularly scheduled boot camps, meetings and seminars to assist them throughout their college application process. The primary goal is to help our scholars secure admissions and scholarships into the best universities in the world. Misongi expects a sincere commitment of students to give back their energy and time to the program, and to their communities and to be the best they can be.
