Studying abroad is about much more than attending a new university. It is also an opportunity to discover a new environment, develop new skills, and gradually shape how you want to make an impact on the world around you.

In Madrid, Difo Saha Arendt and Ewimbi Iean, two alumni of the Misongi College Access Program, are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at IE University.
Both are recipients of the Dallé Family Scholarship for African Talent, awarded through the IE Foundation. One opportunity, two different journeys, and two ways of using their education to pursue their ambitions.

Difo Saha Arendt: Exploring the Potential of Artificial Intelligence

For Difo Saha Arendt, joining IE University represents an important step in building her professional future.

Through her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, she aims to actively contribute to the evolution of artificial intelligence. She is particularly interested in its applications across different fields, including architecture, as well as the challenges surrounding responsible AI through the IE Research Datalab.

The Dallé Family Scholarship allows her to fully focus on this ambition by removing the financial barriers that could otherwise have made studying abroad difficult.

For Difo, this opportunity also comes with a sense of responsibility: to make the most of her time at IE University, gain knowledge and experience, and ultimately use her skills to contribute to Cameroon’s technology sector while supporting the educational journeys of other young people.
Ahead of her arrival in Madrid, Difo is actively preparing for this new chapter. She is strengthening her foundations in computer science and artificial intelligence, attending entrepreneurial events, and developing her communication and networking skills.

Ewimbi Iean: Learning, Building and Giving Back

For Ewimbi Iean, his experience at IE University has already been an opportunity to broaden his horizons.
Studying alongside people from different cultures has helped him gain new perspectives, step outside his comfort zone, and develop his interest in entrepreneurship. Alongside Computer Science and artificial intelligence, he has also explored the humanities and blockchain.

This curiosity has led to concrete projects. Ewimbi has developed five business plans, two for Spain and three for his home country. During the summer of 2026, he is also developing one of his entrepreneurial ideas through the Startup Lab.

But his journey goes beyond his own projects.

Ewimbi tutors Misongi students and supports an initiative launched through his former high school that helps subsidize education for students in crisis-affected regions of Cameroon. He also aims to promote digital literacy among his peers and help small businesses embrace digital tools.

It is a tangible expression of what being a Misongi Scholar means to him: moving forward while helping create opportunities for those who come next.

Two Journeys, One Shared Ambition to Make an Impact

Difo and Ewimbi are pursuing the same Bachelor’s degree and benefit from the same scholarship, yet each is building a path of their own.

For Difo, artificial intelligence is a field in which she hopes to develop expertise that can contribute to Cameroon’s technology landscape. For Ewimbi, higher education is also a space to experiment, build new ideas, share knowledge, and put his skills at the service of his community.

Their journeys reflect an ambition at the heart of Misongi: enabling young talents to access new opportunities while developing the skills, confidence, and experience they need to build their own projects.
For these two Misongi Scholars, the journey at IE University is only beginning.
